Camtasia Quick Tips – Tools

There are several tools for you to modify your videos.

Media

The Media bin holds the recordings, audio and images that you add to the video. If you right-click in the media bin, you can delete unused media. That means anything you don’t have on the timeline.

Library

The library contains pre-formatted multimedia for intros, images and music. You can modify library items. Once they are on your timeline, they will appear in your Media Bin.

Annotations

Annotations are split up into multiple tabs. Callouts are speech bubbles that you can add to your video. There are also arrows and lines and shapes. For any of the annotations, you click on the callout you want and drag it down to the timeline

Blur and Highlight

Blur and Highlight work a little differently. You can change the background image by layering a blurred or highlighted window on top.

Sketch Motion

Sketch Motion allows you to put boxes around areas of the screen you want to highlight. You will use this feature often.

Transitions

Transitions allows you to add an effect to the ends of two separate clips to blend them a little more seamlessly.
